Jan 30th: Today in Maritime History  first Purpose Built Lifeboat Launched

On 30 January 1790, the first purpose built lifeboat was launched on the River Tyne. Appropriately called "the Original", the boat was in service for over 40 years saving hundreds of lives.  The first lifeboat was built by Henry (Francis) Greathead in 1789

You have the good source for providing the information about the Navy history. The country navy is working so good and protects the water. I did not know about this history and this article is the best source of the information.
